Frequently Asked Questions.
Clarity on how we operate, price, and structure our engagements.
Fractional CMO leadership can be part of the model, but CMO + TEAM is designed to solve a broader problem. Companies often need senior marketing leadership and additional specialist capabilities. We can provide the leadership, help determine which capabilities are actually required and assemble the right team around the work.
Usually not. Existing employees may be an important part of the solution. We evaluate the current organization and determine what should remain internal, what capabilities are missing and where outside specialists make sense.
Yes. If an agency is producing good work, there is no reason to replace it simply because CMO + TEAM is involved. Part of senior marketing leadership is making the entire ecosystem work together.
Both. Some engagements focus primarily on leadership. Others involve leadership plus specialist execution. The engagement should match what the business actually requires.
No. In many situations, that's precisely the problem we're brought in to solve.
CMO + TEAM has particular experience across payments and fintech, B2B SaaS and technology, private-equity-backed businesses, professional services, multi-location businesses and companies undergoing periods of growth or transformation. Industry experience matters, but the ability to understand the economics and commercial system of the business matters just as much.
No. Agencies generally sell a predefined capability. CMO + TEAM begins with the business problem and determines which capabilities are required. Sometimes agencies are part of that answer.
Usually with a conversation about the business—not a marketing checklist. We want to understand what is changing, what isn't working, what leadership expects and why the issue matters now. From there, we can determine whether a diagnostic, leadership engagement or broader CMO + TEAM model makes sense.
The Marketing Assessment is $2,500 fixed. It is a focused, professional diagnostic designed to be useful on its own, with no ongoing engagement required.
The Marketing Assessment is $2,500 fixed. CMO Advisory starts at $2,500 per month. Fractional / Interim CMO starts at $5,000 per month. CMO + TEAM starts at $7,500 per month. Ongoing scope depends on the leadership, capability, and execution the business requires.
The starting prices are realistic entry points, not predetermined scopes. A Fractional CMO supporting an existing marketing department is different from one rebuilding the function, just as a CMO + TEAM engagement requiring two specialist capabilities is different from one requiring six. We define the actual scope and investment after understanding the business.
We discuss the appropriate structure based on the business and the role required. The scope, engagement structure and any minimum commitment are defined clearly before work begins, with no surprises. The Marketing Assessment is specifically fixed scope with no ongoing commitment.
Yes. No ongoing engagement is required. You leave with an independent view of the priorities, capability gaps, AI opportunities, sequencing, and recommended operating model. The objective is clarity—not manufacturing a larger engagement.
Yes. Existing employees and good partners may be important parts of the answer. We look at what should remain internal, what agencies or vendors are doing well, what needs to change and where outside specialists make sense.
A permanent CMO can be appropriate. The useful comparison is not executive salary versus a fractional fee; it is a Full-Time CMO plus the marketing organization required to support that leader versus Fractional Leadership plus flexible marketing capabilities. The right structure depends on the amount of continuous executive scope, the capabilities required, and the economics of sustaining the whole organization.
Not always. If the priorities and operating requirements are already clear, we can discuss the appropriate leadership or CMO + TEAM engagement directly. The Assessment is most useful when leadership needs an independent diagnosis before committing additional time or capital.
Yes. The $2,500 fixed Assessment is designed to stand on its own. No ongoing engagement is required.
Both. Depending on the engagement, we can define the AI strategy, redesign workflows, evaluate tools, implement sales and marketing automation, develop agentic systems, and improve research, personalization, content operations, analytics, and decisioning.
We define where automation is appropriate, where human judgment remains essential, how work is reviewed, what data and brand risks must be controlled, and when an AI-enabled process should escalate to a person. Governance is part of the operating model—not an afterthought.
No. The right answer may be existing employees, a new hire, a specialist contractor, an agency, technology, CMO + TEAM resources, or a combination. We determine the capability requirement first.
